This was the first issue of my newsletter, originally sent to a private mailing list.
Hello friends,
I’m creating this newsletter to share updates about my artistic journey, and to regularly reflect on it.
If you are on this mailing list, I’m so grateful for the part you’ve been playing in my life. Please consider replying to these emails to share your thoughts with me, in case you have any. I read every reply.
A year and a half ago, I moved to the US, and since then, writing and creating AI-assisted art have been central to my life. Through them, I discovered what drives me: connecting with others through art, and creating spaces where the experiences I share can resonate on a personal level.
So, why AI?
Each of my pieces begins with an urge to express something through poetry, whether a thought, feeling, or observation. Through writing, I glimpse parts of my unconscious: experiences I’m still processing or discovering.
At this stage, AI serves as my linguistic collaborator. I think in multiple languages, each with its own palette. While English has become my primary way to express myself, sometimes the perfect word comes to me first in Italian. It’s like having extra colors to paint with. Language models help me bring those precise shades of meaning into English, while keeping the essence of what I want to say.
My poems uncover emotional dimensions I want to render visually. AI art generators help me turn what I feel but cannot yet fully picture into physical artworks.
TL;DR: My creative practice begins as an inner dialogue, which then evolves into a collaborative exploration with AI. This is my way of turning personal experiences into universal themes. I believe that what makes each artist unique is the way they convey a message. The message might not be original, but each perspective is, shaped both by and in spite of the environments we’re part of.
Right now, I’m working on a new hybrid creation titled latent space. I’ll share more details in the next missive.
V.
